While i was going through the photos, I stumbled upon this following image and literally laughed out loud. This "behind the scenes shot" cracks me up!! This is what it looks like trying to get six kids under the age of 3 to sit together, look in one direction and not have a meltdown. Little M's face says it all!! ;)

Love these little ones!!
This weekend I spent some time with some of my best friends and their precious little ones. Since starting graduate school, I have not been able to shoot nearly as much as I would like, so I thought it would be fun to do a little min- shoot of some of my favorite kiddos. I'm shocked that it went so smoothly!! Six children from 5 months old to 3 years old, dinnertime and hot summer weather looked like it could be the perfect recipe for a disastrous shoot. The shoot was anything but disastrous! These precious little angels did such a great job! I was able to capture individual photos, sibling photos and even a photo of all of the kiddos together in around an hour. The kids were rewarded with a fun dinner and tons of playtime together after the shoot :). Love these little ones and their parents!! What a fun Sunday evening.

Little Sailor turns 1
This weekend, my best friend's baby boy had his 1st birthday party. After lots of searching on pinterest for nautical themed ideas and hours of putting together homemade decorations, it all came together. It was such a precious party and worth all the effort. We had a great time decorating cupcakes, making wreaths and creating all sorts of other cute nautical decorations. I'm so glad that this sweet birthday boy had such a fun first birthday party!! Love him so much! Here is a link to his sister's adorable "bubble gum" birthday party we put together a couple of years ago. It was over-the-top cute too!

a little bit of everything
I can't believe I'm almost done with my second semester of graduate school!! While I'm in school, Sarah Backstrom Photography is on a temporary hiatus, and I have not been taking on any new client shoots. I can't wait to start taking shoots again when grad school is over! I've missed being able to get behind the camera every week and capture and create images for my awesome clients. To help with my creative itch, I have taken a few photos of my best friends and their little ones over the past 7 months. Here are some images from those engagement, bridal and baby shoots. Can't wait to get back into shooting on a regular basis after I graduate in a little over a year!
